Hi, I’m Bri! I’m here to share with you a little verse that I found not too long ago which really helped me to put things in perspective and remind me of just how big our God is!
Exodus 14:14, “The Lord Himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.”
Short and sweet, but oh so powerful. A little background though, this verse was spoken by Moses to the Israelites after they had fled from Egypt. Once word of the Israelites escape had reached the king of Egypt, he gathered up Egypt’s entire army to chase after the people of Israel who had defied him. As Pharaoh and his army approached, the Israelites began to panic and cried out to God in despair.
They began to get really angry at Moses, questioning him as to why he had led them out into the wilderness to die. However, Moses told the people, “Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again.”
Of course, after that, Moses parted the Red Sea and led the people of Israel to their freedom; and the army of Egypt chasing after them was destroyed by the power of God. Happy ending for the Israelites, right? Well, it will be for you too!
No matter what you are going through, whatever situation you are in right now, the Creator of the universe is fighting for you and you specifically! One thing I find really inspiring in this chapter is the sheer expectancy of Moses. He doesn’t say, “Just stand still and the Lord might rescue you today.” He says it with absolute confidence in God; because if God is fighting for you, then how can you lose?
Remember that your problems are nothing in the face of God – He is far bigger and greater than any situation you are going through. The fact is, He wants to fight for you! He loves you so much, you his child. He doesn’t want to see you in pain. So, put your confidence in Him. The issues you face are not yours to worry about. Instead, lift them to God and let Him handle it, because I’m pretty sure the guy knows what He’s doing.
Just stay calm, because God is fighting for you – and he can’t lose.
